Learn from finished rigs

Three projects made in Rigby2D, from a single robot to a whole scene. Open one in the browser editor to see how it is built, or download it with its game-ready export to try the runtimes.

Version 1.0, October 2026. Copyright © 2026 the Rigby2D project. All rights not granted below are reserved.

This license covers the Rigby2D demo projects and everything in them: the NILA and Rigbytron characters (names, designs, artwork, rigs, animations, voice and sound), the scene demo with its painted backgrounds, and the exported skeletons, atlases and images made from them ("the Demo Content"). It is a separate license from the one for Rigby2D's source code, which is open source under MIT OR Apache-2.0 and does not cover the Demo Content.

#You may

  1. Learn and explore. Open, play, inspect and modify the Demo Content in Rigby2D or in other tools, to learn Rigby2D, its runtimes and 2D animation.
  2. Evaluate and test. Use the Demo Content to try Rigby2D and its runtimes in your own test projects, prototypes and bug reports, as long as they are not distributed as products.
  3. Teach and show. Show the Demo Content, including your modifications, in tutorials, courses, reviews, articles, videos, streams and talks about Rigby2D, with credit: "NILA / Rigbytron © Rigby2D, from the Rigby2D demo projects."
  4. Share it unchanged. Pass on the unmodified demo download (with this license) free of charge.

#You may not

  1. Use the Demo Content, or characters derived from it, in your own products or releases: games, apps, films, animations, merchandise, NFTs, templates or asset packs, whether free or paid.
  2. Sell, sublicense or redistribute the Demo Content, alone or in a bundle, except as allowed in point 4 above.
  3. Use NILA, Rigbytron or Rigby2D in a way that suggests your work is made, approved or endorsed by the Rigby2D project, or use them as your own character, logo, mascot or brand.
  4. Use the Demo Content, including NILA's voice, to train, fine-tune or evaluate machine learning models, or to create synthetic voices or likenesses.
  5. Remove or change this license or the copyright notices in the Demo Content.

#Your own work stays yours

Rigs, animations, art and code that you create yourself in Rigby2D belong to you, even if you learned how to make them from the demos. This license only limits what you do with the Demo Content itself.

#No warranty

The Demo Content is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. The Rigby2D project is not liable for any claim or damage arising from its use.
