The DragonBones Pro desktop editor is no longer updated (its team moved on to LoongBones, a web editor). Spine asks for a license before you ship. Rigby2D 0.4.1 is our answer: a free, open-source editor that opens what you already made, and runtimes you can ship with no fees, ever.
Download 0.4.1 or open the editor in your browser.
#Bring your characters
- DragonBones: File ▸ Open reads
_ske.jsonprojects with their_tex.jsonatlas. Bones, slots, images, weighted meshes, IK, skins and every animation come across, converted from DragonBones' Y-down space so they look and move the same. Coming from DragonBones. - Spine exports (JSON and
.skel, 3.8 to 4.3) open losslessly, and File ▸ Import ▸ Check a skeleton file tells you exactly what carries over before you switch. Coming from Spine.
#A welcome screen
New projects, your recent work, starter projects (including a playable Phaser game with NILA), the tour and the tutorials, the moment the editor opens.

#Runtimes, one click away
File ▸ Get runtimes downloads the Unity package, the Godot addon for your system (or installs it straight into your Godot project) and the Phaser bundles, always matching your editor's version.

#Add-ons, sandboxed
Python scripts and add-ons now run in a sandbox: they can change your project, but they can't touch your files or the network. Preferences ▸ Add-ons ▸ Get add-ons opens the gallery, with three official add-ons to start: Mirror tools, Breathing idle and Rig report.

#And
- Auto-update: the desktop app checks for new versions and installs signed updates in place.
- Six languages: English, 日本語, 简体中文, 한국어, Español and Português (Brasil).
- The README, in all six languages too.
