Rigby2D 0.4.2 is about the community: building tools for each other, and showing what we make. It is also the first release that installs itself: if you have 0.4.1, the editor offers the update.
Download 0.4.2 or open the editor in your browser.
#An add-on marketplace
rigby2d.com/addons now lists add-ons from anyone, for free. Search them, filter by tag, and open a page for each one with its README, versions and install steps.

Publishing works like the ComfyUI registry: your add-on stays in your own GitHub repository. Publish a release, fill in the submission form, and automatic checks answer within a minute. Once reviewed, it appears on the website and in every editor's gallery, and each new release you publish is picked up by itself.
The first community add-on is already in: Hierarchy select selects a bone's whole chain, its parent or its siblings. Its repository doubles as a template for your own. The publishing guide has the details.
In the editor, the gallery checks every download against the website's checksum, offers Update only for newer versions, and shows tags and a link to each add-on's page.
#Share to r/rigby2d
File ▸ Share to r/rigby2d… renders an animation as a GIF or an MP4 sized for Reddit, saves it, and opens the subreddit's new-post page with the title filled in. Drop the file in, pick Showcase, post.

The GIFs come from a new encoder built into the editor: one palette for the whole clip, and only the pixels that change are stored, so a looping wave is about 70 KB.
#Also new
- Update available in the menu bar: the editor checks for updates when it starts and every few hours, and a green button stays there until you install the new version.
- Updates install in place: an update now uses the same kind of installer you installed with,
so it replaces the old version without asking you to uninstall it. The portable
.exeand the Linux.debget a Download button instead. - What's new on the welcome screen: the latest devlog posts, marked when they're new.
- Help ▸ Devlog and Help ▸ Community, and r/rigby2d one click away in the status bar.
- Add-ons zipped by GitHub ("Download ZIP" and release zips) now install: the editor reads compressed zip files.
- A cleaner website: a simpler header, a full footer, and the devlog.
Come show what you make on r/rigby2d.
